Dear Family & Friends of All American, 5/09/22
Hello from All American!! I hope everyone is doing well and finally enjoying the nice weather. Things are still stable at All American despite what you might hear on your local news. Related to COVID-19 and CDC, IDPH and CDPH (Chicago Department of Public Health), and we are continuing to stay up-to-date with all of the data and changes and we have NO CONCERNS. I want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of your loved one and all of the residents and staff of All American Nursing Home continues to be our top priority. Since our last newsletter, in April, we continue to have NO POSITIVE RESIDENT OR STAFF CASES OF COVID-19! We continue to monitor all of our residents and staff and we continue wearing our masks, face shields, washing our hands, and following our infection control policies to help keep COVID-19 out of the building. Our vaccination data has not changed since last month as we continue to vaccinate and give boosters to any new residents and staff that are not vaccinated on a weekly basis. Good news is our residents are 100% vaccinated (2 doses) and all residents but 5 are waiting to be boosted. These 5 residents are just waiting the 5-months requirement before they can receive their booster. Our pharmacy continues to send us vaccinations and boosters weekly as we need them, so we don't have to wait, and it continues to run smoothly. We continue to only have 1 staff member not vaccinated which is due to this staff religious exemption status. We also have 1 staff member waiting to receive her booster actually this week. Although, it is required that ALL STAFF be fully vaccinated and boosted, we are following the CDC guidelines to test this employee bi-weekly and employee must wear a mask and face shield indefinitely when working. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call me. I am available to ease your mind and answer your questions.
So what is new on the COVID-19 front? We are happy to say that things continue stable and due to our vaccination percentages, and we are hoping to not see any more positive cases in our future. Many are wondering about the new variant, BA.2. Please be assured that we continue to monitor, track, and gather information from IDPH, CDC, and CDPH on a daily basis. Due to the vaccination of our residents and staff, this is currently not a concern for us in the facility, but we will continue to monitor and do our best to keep everyone safe and healthy! I have been asked about the, “4th shot,” and at this time there is still no new information to share. If and when this might happen, all of our residents and families will be made aware. Family and friends visitation continues to stay the same and we encourage our families and friends to visit safely. All families and visitors are encouraged to be safe during your visits and we encourage you to wear an N95 mask while visiting if you are not vaccinated. Please ask a staff member for a mask and they will be happy to help you. Our facility continues to CDC, IDPH, and CDPH regulations especially when it comes to visitors or residents/staff that are only partially or not yet vaccinated. If a resident has been with a large group of individuals while on pass, and if a resident is going on a scheduled overnight pass, please make sure all precautions are still followed such as wearing a mask as much as possible around others, practicing social distancing when able, and washing hands often. Our in-house visiting hours are 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
GOING ON A HOME VISIT OR COMING TO VISIT?? You can visit your resident and/or schedule an overnight visit!!! We encourage you to let us know when you are coming to visit or you want to take your resident on an overnight pass. If you are scheduling an overnight pass, please call 773-334-2224 and ask for Shall, Sade, or Renisha in Social Services. If you still are not comfortable coming to the facility, we are still continuing to encourage phone calls or Skype as alternative sources of communication.
