Dear Family & Friends of All American, 6/20/22
Hello from All American!! It is HOT out there so hopefully everyone is staying safe and cool. We are monitoring the temperatures very closely and we will restrict residents from signing out on pass, unless traveling in a vehicle, so if you plan on taking your resident out, please call ahead. This is a safety precaution we must take to ensure our residents are safe. Residents still go outside to smoke but only for a limited time and they are monitored by staff along with lots of fluids are given. Our last newsletter I had informed everyone that we had 1 positive COVID-19 case from a resident that was readmitted from the hospital. Well, unfortunately we have a few more positive cases that returned from the hospital. I want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of your loved one and all of the residents and staff of All American Nursing Home continues to be our top priority. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. Related to COVID-19 and CDC, IDPH and CDPH, and we continue to stay up-to-date with all of the data so it’s time for another COVID-19 vaccine update. With the recommendation from the CDC, IDPH, CDPH, I had mentioned in our last newsletter that we are now starting to give the COVID 2nd booster vaccine. To date, we have given ALL 81 of our residents over the age 50 their 2nd booster shot and NO CONCERNS noted. This vaccine was given to individuals that are over the age of 50 and health concerns such as immunocompromised individuals. In addition, our staff that are over age 50 has also received their 2nd booster shot. We continue to monitor all of our residents and staff and we continue wearing our masks, face shields, washing our hands, and following our infection control policies. Good news is our residents are 100% vaccinated (2 doses) and all residents but 5 are still waiting for the 1st booster and all eligible for the 2nd booster have been completed. Our pharmacy continues to send us vaccinations and boosters weekly so we don't have to wait and it continues to run smoothly. We still have 1 staff member not vaccinated which is due to this staff religious exemption status. Although, it is required that ALL STAFF be fully vaccinated and boosted, we are following the CDC guidelines to test this employee bi-weekly and employee must wear a mask and face shield indefinitely when working. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call me. I am available to ease your mind and answer your questions.
So what is NEW at All American? Starting July 1st, All American Nursing Home will now be called All American Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Yes, we have new ownership! What does this mean for the resident and families of All American? I don’t see any changes except for POSTIVE ones! Our staff, including myself, will continue to provide the best care possible for your resident. Positive changes that I see in the horizon would be cosmetic upgrades to the facility, newer computer system, and a change in our pharmacy system. Besides that, you will continue still see excellent care, delicious food, specialized and fun activities, and all of our management team will remain in place. More information will be provided in our July newsletter.
GOING ON A HOME VISIT OR COMING TO VISIT?? You can visit your resident and/or schedule an overnight visit!!! We encourage you to let us know when you are coming to visit or you want to take your resident on an overnight pass.
